The Receptionist
"Redwood Family Practice, How can I help you?"
How do I make an appointment and how will
my appointment work?
To make an appointment please call 443-4593. Please explain to
the receptionist the nature of your visit, so enough time can be allotted.
New Patients: If you have not filled out a brief medical history
and a registration form prior to your first appointment, please arrive
30 minutes before your first appointment to fill out these forms.
Also be sure to bring your current insurance card.
Established Patients: Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled
appointment, so you can be moved into an exam room, and be ready to see
a physician or a nurse practitioner on schedule. For each visit bring
all medications or a complete list (including over-the-counter drugs) of
all the medications you are currently taking. This assists with making
sure your medical records are current and accurate. Always bring
your medical insurance cards. If, for some reason, you cannot keep
a scheduled appointment or will be delayed, please call as soon as possible.
What is your policy regarding prescriptions
and refills?
If your prescription has automatic refills, call your pharmacy directly
for a refill. If your prescription does not have automatic refills,
call your pharmacist, who will then call our office and arrange for the
refill if it is appropriate--allow 48 hours for processing. Sometimes
refills are not made if follow-up appointments are not kept. Follow-up
appointments are very important to properly manage medication.
Can I freely ask my physician questions
and easily communicate with him/her?
We make a special effort to explain everything to you regarding your
condition, and medications. If you ever have questions, or something
is not clear to you, please do not hesitate to ask.
Do you have nurse practitioners?
What role do they play?
In addition to our staff of physicians, we are delighted to have
well-trained women nurse practitioners to assist with womenís health
care, and other needs of our patients under the guidance of our physicians.
